Live Oak Estates Homeowners Association’s Annual Meeting was held on November 7, 2023. 45 households were represented in person, and 51 proxies were received.
The meeting lasted 1.5 hours. While the meeting minutes have not yet been prepared and approved by the board, we wanted to share the following highlights from the meeting right away.
1. Board member Ron Sutton was re-elected to a full 3-year term, with no other candidates nominated
2. All By-Laws amendments passed, with the following percentages voting in favor of each:
- Amendment 1, allowing Board to determine the Association’s principle office address: 95%
- Amendment 2, eliminating ICI’s prerogative to convey property to the Association without our consent: 96%
- Amendment 3, allowing Board to determine the date and time of future Annual Meetings: 73%
- Amendment 4, allowing Board to determine the frequency of future Board Meetings: 79%
- Amendment 5, replacing the requirement for annual audits by CPA with an annual CPA review, at minimum, with CPA audits upon majority vote by either Board or Members: 92%
- Amendment 6, allowing Members’ attorney or accountant to inspect Association records and adding option to make documents accessible online: 96%
3. The Treasurer’s proposed 2023-2024 budget was presented to the owners. The board will formally approve the 2023-2024 budget at a Special Board Meeting before November 30 as required by the By-Laws and you will receive a meeting invitation at least 14 days before the meeting.
